The All India Bar Examination has been made mandatory for all law students graduating from the academic year 2009-2010 onwards to practice law in India. For the purpose of clearing the AIBE exam, candidates first have to enroll as advocates under Section 24 of the Advocates Act, 1961 with the respective State Bar Councils and thereon, apply for the AIBE exam.
